Inducing Flow Instabilities in Aneurysm Geometries via the Reynolds-Orr Method

چکیده

Abstract Ruptured intracranial aneurysms are the leading cause of hemorrhagic strokes. Although prevalent in as much 4% adult population, most do not rupture, and their growth risk rupture remains difficult to predict. Previous studies have identified abnormal wall shear stress patterns blood pressure spikes, both features unstable flows, key factors aneurysm behavior. While computational fluid dynamics has been enlisted help study no consensus established on how impose flow conditions. Here, we use Reynolds-Orr instability analysis calculate perturbations that capable inducing 3D arterial geometries with without aneurysms. These lay foundation for future by providing mathematically consistent conditions time-dependent Navier-Stokes simulations.

the effects of changing roughness on the flow structure in the bends

flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...

Direct Numerical Simulation of the Wake Flow Behind a Cylinder Using Random Vortex Method in Medium to High Reynolds Numbers

Direct numerical simulation of turbulent flow behind a cylinder, wake flow, using the random vortex method for an incompressible fluid in two dimensions is presented. In the random vortex method, the primary variable is vorticity of the flow field. After generation on the cylinder wall, it is followed in two fractional time step in a Lagrangian system of coordinates, namely convection and diffu...

An eigenvalue search method using the Orr-Sommerfeld equation for shear flow

A physically-based computational technique was investigated which is intended to estimate an initial guess for complex values of the wavenumber of a disturbance leading to the solution of the fourth-order Orr-Sommerfeld (O-S) equation. The complex wavenumbers, or eigenvalues, were associated with the stability characteristics of a semi-infinite shear flow represented by a hyperbolic-tangent fun...

taylor-couette flow instabilities in journal bearings

in industry, flow instabilities are important in journal bearings at high rotational speeds. for inviscid flows between two rotating coaxial cylinders, an instability criterion was introduced by taylor-couette. however, viscosity may play as stabilizer or destabilize in such flows. in this work, stability theories were reviewed for two coaxial rotating cylinders. then, flow instability patterns...

Instabilities and Particle Production in S - Brane Geometries

We study the classical stability of a class of S-brane geometries having cosmological horizons. By considering the perturbations of the metric in these ge-ometries we establish that their horizons are unstable in the sense that an observer trying to cross the horizon experiences an infinite flux of radiation at the instant of crossing. The backreaction of this radiation is likely to convert the...
